Gibraltarian Rock Band – Taxi visit Tanzania for Charity AKIN

This is a video of the Gibraltarian Rock Band – Taxi who went to Tanzania in East Africa to see the work of the Gibraltar charity AKIN – very moving piece supported by a very beautiful song written and sung by Taxi…

Following the split of the Gibraltar based band “Melon Diesel” in 2003, three members of the original line up reformed as “Taxi”.

Between Melon Diesel and Taxi they sold over a quarter of a million albums in Spain, which earned them 2 gold discs, one platinum disc and a Grammy Nomination.

Their success included more than 8 top ten hits, one of which reached the coveted number one slot.

But all this success was about to be put abruptly and sharply into perspective…

In 2007, the three members of Taxi travelled to Tanzania to see the work of the Gibraltar registered charity, The Association for Kids In Need (AKIN).  On their return they compiled a DVD of some of the footage they took during the trip and put it to their song “Hoy, ganas de vivir”.
